Cory Anthony Booker, US Senator from New Jersey

Booker was born on April 27th 1969 at 1:10 AM in Washington D.C. because his parents worked for the Federal division of IBM. He attended Stanford University, where he studied political science (B.A., 1991) and sociology (M.A., 1992). He was awarded a Rhodes scholarship to the University of Oxford like former president William Jefferson Clinton, where he received a bachelor’s degree in history (1994). Upon his return, he attended Yale Law School, earning a doctorate in jurisprudence in 1997.

After working for the Urban Justice Center in New York City, Booker ran for a seat on the Newark City Council in 1998, and he surprised many by defeating a longtime incumbent. After assuming office, Booker sought to combat an epidemic of drug abuse, and he took up residence in one of Newark’s most crime-afflicted areas.

In 2002 he ran for mayor of Newark, but was defeated; the race was the focus of the acclaimed documentary Street Fight (2005). A second bid, in 2006, however, was successful. As mayor, he garnered national attention for initiatives on gun control, a major issue of his (see Mars in the 10th house in Sagittarius). After Frank Lautenberg died in 2013, a special election to fill his U.S. Senate seat was held, and Booker won.

His ascendant is Aquarius ♒ 04, a man dressed up and a deer by his side with his antlers folded. This symbol suggests Booker’s assertive stance on the political scene and how he wants to make an impact of real consequence. Alas, as it is inconjunct his moon, it is suggests that he plays to the gallery and “mug it up.” Here’s a good example of where he dared the Senate to throw him out for breaking senatorial rules. It did not happen and Senator Booker knew that though he was breaking the rules, he would not be thrown out — but it made for good talking points.

Booker: ‘I’m knowingly violating the rules’ and am releasing documents

The Booker Chart

Senator Booker is a see-saw temperament type. His Neptune is right near his Midheaven giving him a good voice and pleasing appearance his North Node is in Pisces in the 2nd house highlighting his need to become more compassionate and less flippant with others. While he is methodical and detail oriented in his work, his emotional distance from those around him, particularly women, as Venus is conjunct, make him seem uncaring and distant.

His Line of Vitality is trine showing how easy things are for him, and that he takes that for granted, and not work as hard as he should. His Line of Efficiency is absent suggesting he procrastinates on daily things.

His Line of Motivation is sesquiquadrate showed in the clip above — he is highly aggressive and bait others. That does not always work out to his advantage as they cover the 3rd and 8th houses , so that he taunts and dares are always ignored and so grandstanding ensues and he finds himself enwrapt in his own snares.

The last line of Social Significance — or how Booker interacts with society is sextile in the 8th to 10th houses shows how relies on human relationships and social constructs for his advantage. Marc Jones wrote that people born from 1962 to 1971 work best with others because they are so receptive to ideas.

#190 Lord Admiral Charles Beresford

Admiral Charles William de la Poer Beresford, First Baron Beresford, G.C.B., G.C.V.O., Royal Navy was an officer of the Royal Navy.

from his Memoirs

Born in Curraghmore, Waterford County, Ireland, on February 10 1846 he was son of a Protestant minister and his wife. Beresford enjoyed a career in the Royal Navy and as a Member of Parliament for the Unionist cause. His indomitable spirit gave him the nickname of Charlie B — a pun on England’s John Bull. He died shortly after attending President Theodore Roosevelt’s funeral from pneumonia on 6 September, 1919 . The similarities in these two political / military lives is striking.

Highlights of his Chart

  • Southern bowl temperament
  • Gestalt Mental Chemistry
  • Line of Vitality in opposition
  • Line of Efficiency semisquare.
  • Line of Culture inconjunct.
  • Line of Motivation is quintile.
  • With his North Node in the Tenth House, Donna van Toen in her The Nodes Book, writes this placement give the native a tendency to dream of success by overcoming educational, familial and status limitations by rising above his station in life. Often he does this by gaining the support of authority figures or others who are in a position to help. Difficulties with one or both parents are common.
  • None of that is pertinent to the Lord Admiral so perhaps we should view the north Node in the eleventh as it is 1 degree away. If so, Ms. van Toen writes : In the eleventh house, hang-ups can involve honesty, knowledge, or ethics – all things that would seem to correlate more with Sagittarius / ninth house at first glance. Where North Node in Sagittarius / ninth leans towards lack of discrimination and fanaticism, the eleventh house North Node takes a cold, dispassionate approach. Whatever is perceived to be the truth or the right way is done without concern about the damage that may be done particularly if the “truth” is biased or flawed . Relationships are often spoiled by this attitude of ‘honesty is the best policy’ that is construed as brutal and demeaning.
  • Ascendant is 01 Capricorn, the HS of a whirlpool — a force of irresistible strength and force of nature.
the Lord Admirals Arabian Parts as renamed by Marc Jones
  • Part of Conviction conjunct Midheaven (career) and Jupiter exalted in its own house in the ninth. It would be hard to tell him he was wrong OTOH he was a fierce and courage fighter for his beliefs.
  • Part of Fortune conjunct Mercury in the 12th.
  • Part of Relevance conjunct Part of Fortune in the 12th.

Excerpts from the Lord Admirals writings

  • Here is a site discussing his book on the reasons for breaking China. it was written in 1899 five years before both the Boxer Rebellion in China against foreigners & the Kerensky in Russia against the Tsar.
  • Archive.org has his memoirs written when he as 50 and made quite a stir on both sides of the Atlantic. It begins with his viewing of the Royal Fleet in 1858 as it came to winter in the harbour of Waterford County and ends in 1909 when he retired and became a landlubber. There is little on his private life as one would expect from a Southern bowl and dedicated to his brother officers of the Royal Navy; it details the many ships he served and military actions he saw in his career. It is well written and I enjoyed the pages I read.

“Seamen often curse and swear when they are aloft furling or reefing sails in a gale of wind; but I have never heard a sailor blaspheme on these occasions. Their language is merely a mode speaking. Although in the old days I have heard men blaspheme on deck, blasphemy was never heard aloft perhaps because they felt they were closer to the Almighty where he could hear them.”

#77 Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands

Her Royal Highness Queen Beatrix was daughter of Queen Juliana and a the German Prince Bernhard of Lippe-Biesterfeld. She was born on January 31, 1938 in Soestdijk Palace in Baarn, Netherlands at 9:47 am. Marc Jones incorrectly states she was born in Amsterdam.

She reigned from 1980, when her mother abdicated in her favour on April 30, 1980 (Queen Juliana’s birthday) to April 30, 2013 when she stepped down in favour of her eldest son, King Willem-Alexander, whose 50th birthday had been 3 days prior. She has two other sons, from her marriage to a German commoner Claus-Felix vom Amsberg, Princes Friso and Constantijn. Her family have the hereditary rulers of the Netherlands since William the Silent liberated the country from Spain in the 16th Century.

The chart is the official one, It has several highlights:

  • Queen Beatrix has an Aries 18 Ascendant. Her Part of Fortune is conjunct to it.
  • She has a stellium in Aries perhaps why she defied everyone in marrying someone she loved despite the riots in Amsterdam that ensued in 1966 when it was announced.
  • The Queen has another stellium in the eleventh house in Aquarius.
  • She has a Grand Trine in Earth from Uranus in Taurus to Neptune in Virgo to Mercury in Capricorn.
  • Her Line of Vitality is conjunct.
  • The Queen has a gestalt Mental Chemistry that meshes well with her mutable natural disposition.
  • Her Line of Motivation is sextile.
  • Her Line of Culture is trine.
  • She has 11 Septiles in her chart; only the conjunction aspect comes close with 7.

An Aussie Great: Sir Don Bradman

Donald George “Don” Bradman, AC, the youngest of 5 children, was born at a midwife’s home on 27 August 1908 at what we figure to be around 8pm in the evening in Cootamundra, New South Wales; his family home is now a state museum. . Throughout his career he was “The Don”, and widely acknowledged as the greatest batsman of all time. His career Test batting average of 99.94 is often cited as the greatest achievement by any sportsman in any sport.

He was married Jessie Martha Menzies at St Paul’s Anglican Church at Burwood, Sydney on 30 April 1932; they had 3 children.

Sir Donald had a meteoric rise from bush cricket to the Australian Test team in just a bit over two years. Before his 22nd birthday, he set several records for top scoring, some of which still stand, and became Australia’s sporting idol at the height of the Great Depression.  His stats actually could have been greater, but Australia interrupted the cricket for World War II.

Neither Alan Leo, Aleister Crowley nor Marc Edmund Jones covered his horoscope, unfortunately. We would like to correct that mistake now.

Bradman’s interception is in the 3rd and 9th

We have rectified Sir Donald to 01 Aries “a man rises out of the water, and a seal embraces him,” suggesting the soul’s interdependence between emotion and will as they create its new potential. His ascendant is closely tied to his Part of Fortune because success was so entwined into the fiber of his being, they could not separate. Bradman is a bucket with a Uranian handle at 13 Capricorn in the 10th house though Uranus is square the Lord, highlighting how he resented rules that he felt tied him down & yet lived a very domestic and quiet life.

He has a preponderance of planets in Virgo spreading from the 5th and the importance in his life on technique and perfect aim to the 6th where his scrupulous abstemious lifestyle led to a long life. He often claimed that his success was contingent on his wife, and she appears in the home’s 4th house where she managed everything and let him practise and perfect his skills. His North Node there shows how failure was an anathema to Bradman, and he hated to admit any personal shortcomings or familial problems like the illnesses of his children. This created some friction between himself and his father, who ultimately changed his surname to avoid the interrogating press.

Australian Prime Minister John Howard called him the “greatest living Australian” in 2001, shortly before he reposed. We can only agree, and say he was indeed a True Blue Aussie.
