Brigadier General Herbert McMaster, jr. was born on July 24th 1962 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania at about 4 o’clock in the morning, giving him the HS of Cancer 06 “a boxer skipping rope,” a symbol suggesting his dexterity and skill in enlisting his varied experience in the greater service of the self. The downside is an overeager concern about the security of state shown by his Ascendant square Part of Fortune 07 Aries 57 (the news of an eastward storm) in the 10th house.
Our header picture is of the General with his wife, Kathleen Trotter, the eldest daughter of retired Orange County, California Judge John K. Trotter and one of 7 children. She and McMaster met before he graduated from West Point and were married in 1983. They have 3 girls, Katharine, Colleen and Caragh (Gaelic for Cara).
McMaster’s chart highlights two important things in his life both spotlighted with asteroids. This first is his army career 01 Taurus 55 with asteroid Armor conjunct the Moon 02 Taurus 55. This encompasses both his West Point education and military performance culminating in a brilliant manuever in the first Gulf War, where he earned a Silver Star for gallantry leading a tank assault that destroyed a far larger Iraqi force.
The second event is his book, shown with asteroid Viet 22 Aquarius 49 for Viet Nam titled Dereliction of Duty: Lyndon Johnson, Robert McNamara, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and the Lies That Led to Vietnam. This 1997 book was based on the then Major McMaster’s Ph.D. thesis at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, North Carolina in military history. Dereliction supported the Rand Corporation’s David Halberstam’s arguments from 1972 tome The Best and the Brightest (which was really a rehashing of the Pentagon Paper leaker Daniel Ellsberg’s Stalemate Machine), that Lyndon Johnson made Vietnam policy based on domestic-policy implications, and these decisions led to the Viet Nam failure.
What gave McMaster’s tale a new spin in rustling up this shop-worn tale that Johnson’s preoccupation with domestic concerns, Robert McNamara’s arrogance (later head of Desert Storm where McMaster served), was as vetted military commander he gave a studied agreement with his predecessors that the Joint Chiefs of Staff did not make clear it to Congress, and in turn the American people, the force levels needed in Vietnam to win.
Throughout the opus, McMaster insists that the deception of Congress, and hence the public, was at the root of the disaster, but again like his predecessors, he totally ignores the protests in the US (rock and roll music like Credence Clearwater Revival’s “Fortunate Son”, or our favorite from Woodstock — a massive antiWar rally in August 1969 — from Country Joe McDonald and the Fish “I feel like I’m fixing to Die”, Hanoi Jane Fonda, a constant barrage of media covered college sit downs) that showed America was not fully behind this War effort. McMaster instead naïvely posits that the US Military in Nam should have been like USN Admiral Farragut in the Battle of Mobile (Alabama) Bay and said “Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead.” Alas, it was never that simple.
McMaster’s support of Ellsberg- Halberstam, though, made him a cause célèbre of the left, and when he joined the Trump administration, they thought he had jumped ship. Recent intelligence from AG William Barr in his his visit to Italy highlights how whistleblower Eric Ciaramella, an intelligence officer specializing in Russia and Ukraine, and McMaster’s personal aide and during the Obama administration, are both like the FBI’s Jim Comey serving “a higher loyalty,” and so no one had nothing to worry about.
It’s all in the chart
Jupiter conjunct the Midheaven in the 9th suggests his motivation (Jones’s keyword for Jupiter is just that — motivation) at the symbol of 11 Pisces 55 Rx or ” men seeking illumination.” On first blush Jupiter as Lord of Sagittarius should be in good, but in the watery house of Pisces it gets instead the negative meaning of “hypocrisy.”
McMaster’s Jupiter is then conjunct the Viet asteroid and opposite Leo 29 (Regulus) where Uranus is lurking and a translation of light to Venus suggesting that McMaster is a lone ranger concerning the country because he feels he should. That’s an odd idea for an army general sworn to uphold his Commander-in-Chief’s decisions, but with Pluto right night to Uranus in the 3rd and the conjunct to social destruction of Pluto at 08 Virgo 33 — could this be a scorched earth policy of enemies threatening not just the State but his own career and relevance?
Pluto is conjunct in this 3rd house stellium Venus 12 Virgo who finds herself in an airy abode, thus is it is not surprising that her symbol is a “bride’s veil snatched away” with the meaning “contempt” — for who would want that when their special day is nearby some interloper, obviously President Donald Trump because his Mars is nearby at 27 Leo and definitely within Regulus’s orb.
So why would he do this? It is simple, peace is threatening to the Army. Without a constant threat they have no jobs. Without an overseas perpetual base they have no promotions, no free forays to Hong Kong, Paris and Bangkok, no free medicare care, etc. Let us be clear, Congress makes money, big money on war…..and so does the military, there will be no peace in their lifetime if they can help it, and for most of our lives, at least those of use living in the United States, there has not.
Whether you have agreed with us or not, but enjoyed the piece, give us a like and work together towards world peace. Thanks.
Stormy Daniels was born on March 17, 1979 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and named Stephanie Clifford. We have rectified her chart for 2:13 AM, CST giving her an Ascendant of Capricorn 12.
Ms. Daniels has a Grand Trine in her chart, but it is out of quadrature — Jupiter is Cardinal, Neptune is Mutable and Mercury is Cardinal, making the Neptune in Eleventh house in Sagittarius rather unstable and weak. This is often seen in rather cold and calculating people who use their popularity and allure, for their own agenda. Still it makes her temperament type a locomotive giving a single minded person in obtaining her goals.
Venus in the First house is sextile Mercury that gives Ms. Daniels a polished and agreeable manner, important in her rise in the pornography field and also her second career of politics and highlights her artistic abilities. Her Part of Fortune in the Fifth house at 02 Gemini supports this highlighting her creativity and friendly personality and opposite Uranus in the Tenth House show how she uses that very well for her personal advantage and career.
We felt that the Ninth would stay the travel ban and so it would go on to the Supremes. That was right. See the article here. Now the Supremes have agreed that the travel ban in full force is legal. We could not do a mundane chart for this because we had no idea when Scotus would here it or decide.
President Donald Trump’s travel ban is once again to largely go back into effect after the Supreme Court of the United States stayed two lower courts’ injunctions Monday.
The district courts, especially that of Barack Obama-appointed District of Hawaii Judge Derrick Kahala Watson, have repeatedly ruled that the bans must be blocked from going into effect or must, in the interim, be interpreted in such a way as to have little effect on the list of mostly Muslim majority countries from which travel is prohibited under the orders. The petitions in the two cases were made to Justice Anthony Kennedy and Chief Justice John Roberts respectively. Only Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia Sotomayor declined to sign on to the orders staying the Fourth and Ninth Circuits.

The Supreme Court had dismissed the earlier lawsuits based on the earlier, temporary versions of the ban because they had expired.The government, represented by Solicitor General Noel Francisco, asked the justices to re-instate the ban based in part on the findings of the review, which provided new security-based justifications for the inclusion of Chad, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Syria, Venezuela, and Yemen and, he argues, turns the likelihood of success against the plaintiffs.

Today is the end of Summer time. It’s unofficially winter and the days will darken from here on until the solstice next month. Our header picture is from Charleston where it is a glorious 80 degrees Fahrenheit with nary a cloud in the sky. Next week though, the temps start dropping, so enjoy it while you you can.
Our astrological wheel set for Saturday November 4, 2017 and produced by Solar Fire; included also in this report, is consideration of the full moon in Taurus for this month.
Also on hand was the inauguration chart, to see what is happening with the Trump Team in Asia and their meeting with Ricochet Rabbit aka Xi JingPing now the most powerful man in China, after outmaneuvering the Donald on Chinese trade, though with a little help from his “crazy as a fox ” neighbor Kim Jung-un’s nuclear testing in the Pacific.
Our astrological configuration is a driving locomotive temperament type with ten planets rather evenly distributed through 2/3rds of the map. The key is that the two boundary planets, Mars and the Moon form a trine. Of second importance, is that another trine is created by the Moon to some other planet (in this case that other is the planet Pluto that is located right on the the First House boundary). That third and final trine, gives us a Grand Trine and also makes the circle complete, because it trines back to the inaugural spot.
Mars is in the Ninth House of Travel that is also the Top Cut of the locomotive scissors-action. This cut opens a space in the map, and the Moon on the Fifth House Cusp, closes the scissors action. The Top Cut is always the Accent (or as Marc Jones called is the High Focus) of the Chart, and here depicts how the serf America travels to their Overlord to pay tribute particularly as Mars at 09 Libra + the Moon at 19 Taurus, have the symbols of Love and Genuflection.¹
In the meantime, there is heavy planetary emphasis (seven planets plus two asteroids — Vesta and Juno) on the Eastern side of the chart, beseeching us to be more resourceful because reverting to colonial status is not a good place for us to be. Once again, we hear again the siren call to overcome our shortcomings and initiate some innovative methods for putting us to work by building tangible assets (Uranus at 26 Aries in the Fourth House ).
This though is offset by the empty trine in the West (can you believe?) showing the need to be objective (six planets above the horizon) and happily buckle down (Sun, Jupiter, Mercury). This admonition is true not only for the Country, and Congress, but us as well because the country’s chart is also a guiding light for our own.
The Dice, yes they are back, showed up at Gemini 17 degrees (a semi-sextile away from the Moon) in the bootstrapping Fifth House. Marc Jones gave this house the term of Maturation, a word that denotes growing up and moving on and out — from old habits and things keeping you back like excuses, but we like the concrete noun Bootstrapping a tad better.
The symbol for our die is Impotence, and it is conjunct the fixed star of Rigel the name of Orion’s left foot. While the star itself denotes a fortunate aspect,and imparts great technical & engineering abilities, it also, alas, imports a rather idealistic and impractical mindset
Our song today is from Dean Martin, again, because his Sun is at 16 degrees 51 minutes of Gemini. So is Walter Winchell’s — there must be a connection I’m missing somewhere in there.
The Green Mountain Boys were patriot militia in the American Revolution that began in 1770 at present-day Bennington, Vermont, as an unauthorized militia organized to defend the property rights of local residents who had received land grants from New Hampshire.
New York, which then claimed present-day Vermont, as part of its territory, disputed New Hampshire’s right to grant land west of the Green Mountains. The Green Mountain Boys stopped sheriffs from enforcing New York laws and terrorized settlers who had New York grants, by burning buildings, stealing cattle, and flogging travelers with birch rods all part of their terroristic actions to deter people from their land. Led by Benedict Arnold and Ethan Allen, they were immortalized in legend and song.
1. From E. C. Matthews book, Fixed Stars and Degrees of the Zodiac Analyzed c. 1949
DONALD J. TRUMP was born to MR & MRS FRED C. TRUMP in this Hospital at 10:54 AM on Friday, the Fourteenth day of JUNE A.D. 1946.
Which of course begs the question how does one rectify that as we did here. The answer, unfortunately, is a sticky wicket.
Many think that birth time is when the head is shown “crowning.” My good friend a CNRP (certified nurse practitioner) who has worked many a delivery, say that is wrong, because a head crowning could be stillborn and so until the baby “cries” does the delivery team know that it is alive. If we use Mrs. Shafer’s definition, how could we be right with 10:03 when the birth certificate says 10:54.
the extra Hour
Let’s tackle the hour difference first.
Obviously the Daylight Savings Time issue. New York State required prior to 2004 that all time be recorded in Standard Time but we do not know if out in Jamaica the nurses were that up to snuff — in the mid 40’s Jamaica Queens was considered the “boonies.” So that is the first issue.
Next is the problem whether the attending nurse looked at the main clock, a time-stamp, or their watch, which was obviously in DST and wrote that down. Both Doris Chase Doane and Robert Jansky, both have books on natal time issues & admit therein, that this error happens more often than not. Now, with the DST issue gone, we are now TWO minutes late.
Two minutes one way or the other
I can give another example in the same vein.
A friend of ours, Loir, was never happy with her chart, always picking and delving into it, tearing it apart, asking everyone she met to divine it because it did not describe her, or her marriage (there were no synastric aspects that could explain the attraction) & in consequence felt inadequate. She got a copy of the birth certificate from the hospital; she figured that was part of the problem. But when it arrived, everything was still a mishap.
For her birthday last March, I decided to rectify Loir’s chart, and voila, the time on the birth certificate & my rectification did not match. I got 17:44. I sent it to her as a gift. She read it and for the first time, her symbols clicked, her progressions worked, her relationship with her husband Kieran made sense (where before there was nothing, now she had her Midheaven partile to his Ascendant); she was happy. Why should this be so? Eine mysterion (Greek for it is a mystery) or look above and pick your logical reason like clocks run fast or slow. I prefer that birth is a mysterious event and we must work to get it right.
We are sticking with 9:58 AM which does not change as much as you would think : Trump’s is Mars 26 Leo 45 & well within the orb of Regulus at 29.50 Leo and according to Vivian Robson, gives him “honor, fame, strong character public prominence, high military command” — he is Commander in Chief of the American Armed Forces .
The Leo ascendant makes its natives tall and large boned people with conspicuous hair; especially when they are young and it is its most abundant (see Michael Moore another Leo ascendant over here). They have ruddy complexions, & are rather squarish in stature. They benefit, like the lion in the jungle, through social connections.
His Midheaven is now at 10 Taurus 26 giving him a dutiful character that does not shirk from his duty and with the square to Pluto partile his 1st house compels him to be bombastic and flamboyant. Leo has two martial planets, Pluto and Mars, in the 1st house, so whether you love him or hate him, no one ever feels neutral about Trump. His stellium in the 12th house in Cancer shows the importance of his mother and his affinity for large organizations but note he has nothing in the 10th house that traditionally is Presidential stamp.
Finally, he is a Bucket with a Moon handle in the 5th highlighting his sensitivity to criticism (it is trine his Ascendant), and attacks on his children — but that is typical of the lion, and should be no surprise.
Our current leader-in-chief, Mr Trump, and the five U.S. Presidents that preceded him each have a planetary pattern in common in their horoscopes that I will explore with you in this essay. Astrology is particularly good at revealing such unsuspected, underlying connections between charts. We will be looking at the natal horoscopes of the presidents, beginning with Jimmy Carter, the 40th U.S. President, and concluding with Mr. Trump, the 45th.
Marc Edmund Jones in his astrological work developed several original techniques for horoscope delineation. I will be using one of them, “the Mode of Self-Integration” in this article. His description of this technique can be found in its initial published form in “Astrology, How and Why it Works”; the technique was further elaborated with many example charts in a subsequent book, “The Essentials of Astrological Analysis” , and in his final book, “The Counseling Manual in Astrology”.
I refer the reader to those texts for a complete treatment of this technique. Within the limited space of this article I will attempt to give to those of you not familiar with these texts what I hope will be a “working knowledge” sufficient for understanding this interesting material.
Some Basic Principles of Sabian Astrology
The planets naturally pair off into four groups according to their orbital distances from the Sun. This fact has been recognized by astrologers since the beginning, but the deeper meaning of this was not investigated in any depth until Marc Edmund Jones came along in the mid-1900s. He organized the planets ( Sun and Moon) into four “departments”:
The first department, Vitality, the Sun and Moon;
the second, Motivation, Jupiter and Saturn;
the third, Efficiency, Venus and Mars;
and the fourth, Significance, Uranus and Neptune.
Note: You notice that Mercury and Pluto are not included in this classification. Dr. Jones did recognize that perhaps a fifth department should or could be created, but did not pursue it, in part because the 4 -3 pattern that he finally devised, worked so well, and would have been completely disrupted by the addition of another Department.
He did recognize that Mercury and Pluto were a significant pairing, in fact he described Pluto as a “cosmic Mercury”. Perhaps this is an area for further research.
The Four Departments
The Department of Vitality: Sun and Moon – “…the Sun, as self itself, or a core aliveness, keywords: AUTHORITY and PURPOSE, and, the Moon, is in a sense all other relevant existence, keywords, PUBLIC, and FEELING,Sun and Moon together constitute the domain of “Vitality” or the area of the simple possibility of a conscious ongoing”.
The Department of Motivation: Jupiter and Saturn – ” Jupiter is the positive representative of the primary act-of-personality, or of what becomes man’s continuous determination to play an identifiable role in the company of others in order to make some appreciable contribution to the common or conscious reality, keywords: PERSONALITY and ENTHUSIASM….with Saturn, is the negative representative of this primary act-of-personality, keywords: WISDOM and SENSITIVENESS …it can be used to chart the everyday and direct intervention of the cosmos in all conscious experience”.
The Department of Efficiency: Venus and Mars – “Mars as the positive representative…indicates fundamentally the manner in which anybody starts anything, and therefore it is the indicator of INITIATIVE and RISK. Venus as the negative representative …can be taken to measure the common endeavor of man to collect his due from the normal course of events in which he participates. keywords: RECOGNITION and ACQUISITIVENESS. ”
The Department of Significance: Uranus and Neptune – “Uranus is the positive representative of this pair, keywords: UNIQUENESS and INDEPENDENCE….it has become the special representative of independence, and so of personal distinctiveness or even eccentricity…an enlistment of all cosmic potentialities in the cause of human audacity and an untrammeled vision. Neptune, as the negative representative of this pair, keywords: RESPONSIBILITY and OBLIGATION….reveals the cosmic potentials or the broad sweep of history itself…of man’s obligation to his everyday and fundamentally material world.”
The Fundamental Trichotomy
The trinitarian conception of deity and the philosophical triad appears in many forms worldwide and throughout history:
in Plato’s tripartic soul;
in Aquinas’s 3 acts of intellect;
in Kant’s, 3 categories of relation;
in Hegel’s, 3 dialectical moments:
in C.S. Peirce’s, 3 active principles in the cosmos;
in Pythagorean metaphysics and the list goes on.
Sabian astrology also has its variation of the concept expressed as: circumstances, function and activity.
Circumstances, as the concept is used in Sabian astrology, “relates to the Houses which localize and reveal man in his everyday conscious existence as he attempts to establish a horizon of experience for himself which he may relate to as; personal and hence of direct concern or; impersonal, a matter of incidental importance which he may use or discard as he chooses”.
Function, as the concept is used in Sabian astrology, “relates to the Signs which develop and reveal the essential characteristics of the individual himself, which correlate to that which all individuals on earth must have in common, such as functional participation in life as a whole or organic being as known as wholeness of self.
For example, Aries rules the ‘head’, and all humans have a head, Taurus rules the ‘neck’ and all humans have one, and so on. Function may be objective or tangible in every respect or as equally and entirely subjective or unique in an ever elusive inward orientation”.
Activity, as the concept is used in Sabian Astrology “relates to the Planets which reveal the individual in the immediacy of the act-of-self and the ends to which the act is directed. Action is knowable as it is observed and has an object, or can be described in some phase of purpose or response to some other action.
Hence activity may be considered conjunctive as it seeks to bring elements of immediate reality into consistent and fruitful connection with each other, a synthesis; or as disjunctive or bringing the elements of a situation, separating these into components, for analysis, with the purpose of a realignment or reorganization that will be more suitable or desirable – one that will contribute novelty and originality to a given consideration.
Determining the Mode of Self Integration
The next step is to combine the 4 of the Departments with the 3 of the Triadic Process which produces this chart: “The Anatomy of Planetary Relationship”:
The procedure is to identify which of the four Departments are activated, this is usually easily accomplished by noting which pairs of planets of a Department are in a major aspect, if none are found to be in aspect other means are available to determine the Mode of Self Integration that will not be discussed here. If only one department is activated by planetary aspect then the attributes of that Department will be found to be strongly identified in the personality.
If the planetary signification of two Departments are activated by major aspect then a specific Mode- of- Self- Integration for the native is established. For example, if in a natal chart the Sun and Moon are in a major aspect, as are Jupiter and Saturn, but neither of the other two Departments are activated by aspects, than a Mode- of -Self -Integration in “Personal in Circumstances” is established for that individual. Or, in another case, if Venus and Mars are in major aspect as are Sun and Moon then the Mode- of- Self- Integration for the native will be “Objective in Function”.
Now we finally get to the fun part, after much laborious spade work. I think that if you have survived the digging this far this part will be an adequate reward for the effort. Don’t be discouraged if this is just slightly clearer than mud I think if you look at a few example charts the technique will become better understood and useful to you.
One additional note, in Sabian Astrology the allowed orb for aspects of planets is 10 degrees, for aspects involving the Moon, it is 12 degree 30 min, and the Sun is 17 degrees.
The Presidential natal charts
The first chart we will look at is Jimmy Carter’s:
Jimmy has a close opposition between Venus and Mars which indicates that he is naturally inclined to be impersonal, objective and disjunctive in his approach to life, in his ‘self-ordering’.
I believe that those attributes correlate perfectly well with what we know about him. Is there another Department that is activated that would permit us to identify his ‘triadic’ classification, i.e., is he more attuned to ‘circumstances’ in life, or is he more ‘functional’, so that he desires to understand how things work, or is he a ‘activity’ seeker?
By the customary standards of procedure Mr. Carter does not have another Department activated, however, if we permit the admission of a so-called minor aspect, there is a Qunicunx between Uranus and Neptune, if it is allowed, then Mr. Carter can be put into the “Impersonal in Circumstances” category – which also seems to fit him well.
As you will begin to notice as we wade though the study of these six Presidents the “Personal in Circumstances” typing will appear frequently. Mr. Carter is sort of the “odd-man-out’ in this group because he clearly checks out as the “impersonal” type, whereas the others are “personal”. This maybe an explanation for the rather low popularity ratings that he had as President, he just did not seem to connect to people very well, appeared a bit aloof. He was admired but not well liked. A definite handicap for a politician.
George H.W. Bush next up
George H. W. has a clear and definite Trine between Sun and Moon, so he is naturally high in “vitality”, an energetic soul, optimistic, probably has not been depressed a day in his life, and you probably don’t have to drag him out of the bed in the morning either, an early riser, probably believes in what Ben Franklin advised us, “Be early to bed and early to rise…” so, G.H.W.B. is “personal, objective and conjunctive” in his self ordering.
But does he have another Department activated? He does, a Sextile between Jupiter and Saturn, if we stretch the orb just a little bit, which I will do, so that puts G.H.W.B. into the class of “Personal in Circumstances” folks.
Number 42, William Jefferson Clinton:
Bill’s chart is an easy one, a good strong square of Sun to Moon and a rather wide, out of sign square, but within an acceptable orb, of Jupiter to Saturn and a conjunction Mars to Venus.
Without further adieu let’s drop Bill into the “Personal in Circumstances” bin.
President #43, George W. Bush:
W’s chart repeats the common theme we are seeing of a hard aspect between the Sun and Moon, in addition he has Jupiter and Saturn in a square aspect. So, he is also clearly a “Personal in Circumstances” guy.
President #44 Barack H. Obama
Mr. Obama is also a “Personal in Circumstances” type because his natal chart has the sextile of Sun and Moon and the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn. However, as I look more closely I see that Venus and Mars are in a wide orb ( 9 degrees 12 min) square, which changes the picture by making this a 3 horse race.
Here we are faced with a challenge to our ability to fine tune the chart. I do have some hesitation to put Mr. Obama into the Personal in Circumstances bin, because he comes off as so cerebral, thoughtful, cool and a big picture type guy.
As we will see next, DJT is a Personal in Circumstances fellow, and he strikes me as the epitome of the type, BHO does not. I believe that typically the Venus and Mars square should not be considered in this Mode- of- Self- Integration analysis because it does not significantly connect with the primary Sun, Moon, Jupiter, Saturn pattern.
Mars is indeed trine to Saturn, but Venus does not make a major aspect to them. Consequently, I think we should stick with the Personal in Circumstances typing for BHO, even though he does not seem to fit all that well, which leads us to the conclusion that he is much more personal and transactional, than he appears.
But then, in a second thought, perhaps Mr. Obama has a “split personality”, not clinically of course, but, basically, he is, as we indicated a primary “Personal in Circumstances” type, but with the addition of the third Department, Efficiency (Venus & Mars) his psychology becomes much more complicated, and the possibilities of typing shift toward the “missing Department”, namely, Significance”.
Significance is missing? This notion is rather fascinating, suggesting that perhaps BHO is a man seeking something larger than life. He is looking for significance of some kind. Did he find it as president?
And now # 45, Donald J Trump:
DJT’s chart is another easy one to type, the Sun,Moon eclipse, partnered with a rather close Jupiter Saturn square, puts him into the Personal in Circumstances camp. He is a man around whom the Universe revolves, so he seems to think, if he can not see a personal involvement in a given situation, it, for all practical purposes, does not exist. Further, he is by his own description, is a “guy who makes deals”, an opportunist, a horse-trader, always on the look out for a a new opportunity to make some money. Not real complicated.
Some concluding Thoughts
I think we might be on to something, that is, we may have identified an astrological signature of “the politician”, namely, a “Personal in Circumstances” typing, and the frequency of appearance of Sun, Moon aspects may indicate that for those who enter politics. To be highly successful it greatly helps if you have a strong “vitality” via a hard Sun, Moon aspect.
I realize that it may appear to be a very long stretch of the imagination to conceive of Donald Trump as a Virgo Ascendant fellow: he so clearly fits the image of a Leo type, and, on top of this, his birth data is rated AA. ( ASC: 29 LEO 55, MC: 24 TAU 18 ) . But consider a few points that is indicative of a Virgo Ascendant.
First, let’s assume that the delivery nurse had an eye on the hospital clock as she slapped baby President Trump & recorded it at precisely 10:54 AM EDT. However, the hospital clock only had a sweep second hand and not digital accuracy the ‘actual’ birth time could have been 10:54:30 AM EDT. If so, then rounding up, the President’s ascendant would have shifted into Virgo.
An unsealed letter
If so, Trump’s new ascendant is Leo 30 is ‘an unsealed letter,’ with the keyword confidence. Marc Jones writes that it gives a “certain integrity to all things that the individual undertakes as wellas to the individual himself. He does warn that “suspicion is a poison to the mind when ever it becomes instead a temperamental tendency.”
I admit that I am biased against Mr. Trump, and did not vote for him. Also I steadfastly believe that he is a bad choice for President. – Eugene Johnson, author of this piece.
The degree opposite Leo is Aquarius 30 that gives the mysterious “field of Ardath in bloom.” The phrase is from Ardath: The Story of a Dead Self by Marie Corelli who was at the turn of the 19th century the most read author in the land, eclipsing Mark Twain. The story is about Theos Alwyn, poet and lost man, who travels to an isolated monastery searching for someone who can take away his soul as he thinks it is blemished. At the monastery he meets Heliobas, a seer who gave up drawing room seances for the the worship of God. One night after talking to Heliobas he dreams of an angel named Edris¹ who tells him to search for Ardath and once he does he will understand. The obvious parallels to the Wizard of Oz notwithstanding, it is a very gothic melodrama.
Is it Aquarius 30 and the Field of Ardath
Aquarius 30 has the keywood of continuity, that can be indicative an exceptional drive to serve others, but may also be witless reaction to reality. Frankly, I do not see it, so I prefer 01 Virgo
Or a Man’s Head?
Now, the Sabian Symbol for 1 Virgo is ‘a man’s head’, with the keyword: character, suggestive of “an effective self-assurance and clear vision of each opportunity in life,.” I could agree with that. Furthermore when negative, it is an “inordinate vanity consistent with a frank overestimation of his own abilities.” Voila, we have it!
I don’t think that there is much disagreement that Mr. Trump is a rather vain man and image conscious. That works well with Virgo surprisingly, they tend to be egoistic and proud of their accomplishments, boasting of their business acumen and practical insights and while they are hardworking often rising earlier than others (Trump has said he sleeps little) they have a poor understanding of other people’s character (the Jeff Sessions appointment says it all). And for the icing on the cake, Virgos are intolerant of criticism.
I agree so much of this sounds like a Leo, but remember that mythologically Virgo is really Ceres, the goddess of agriculture and in particular wheat, hence the name Cereal. Typically she is depicted holding cereal stalks in her hand though in the iconic (see the Chicago Board of Trade statue she is neither golden nor cereal laden. Finally if using the Hellenistic method, the first decan of Virgo is totally ruled by Mercury.
The Art of the Deal
The Symbol for the opposition degree, or the where to side of the equation is 1 Pisces. He we see the ‘ public market,’ with the keyword of “commerce.” Works for me and works too for the man who wrote “The Art of the Deal.” We know he likes golf and making deals and getting his name on buildings, what else is he interested in? Nothing that I have read, so very much like a Virgoan who tends to be rather insular…
Another point in favour of Virgo I is President Trump is a self-admitted germophobe and does not like to shake hands with people. The yod in this chart makes an apex at his midheaven in the ninth house of higher education (he has an MBA from University of Pennsylvania’s business school, Wharton) and travel. The head of his yod is the third house of communications but according to Joan Kellogg’s yod book, ” has a difficulty with practical matters and his communication maybe so hard to follow that it would be considered abstruse and unintelligible for the average man on the street.”
On November 8, Election Day, Mr. Trump’s secondary progressed Sun was located at 0 Virgo 15 or Virgo 1! If we use the Equal House system, the Virgo ASC will then make Mercury the ruler of both the First and the Tenth Houses, and makes a somewhat stronger argument. So let’s hear it for President Trump as a Virgoan!
BTW, one of my colleagues argues that the President really is a Leo over here.
Edris is a a girls’ name from Old English origin. It means “rich and powerful” and is the feminine form of Edric. Also form of Idris.
